Hundreds of thousands of people have left their home countries, in an attempt to escape war and atrocities committed near and around their homes. People from all social classes ventured across water and land in the search for refuge in nearby countries, Europe was no exception.
Most countries established strategies and integration programmes to better assist the integration of these vast numbers of newcomers. But there is more to integration than a roof over one’s head, food, and water, and not all people are equally equipped to learning a language and finding a job.
This project is based on the idea, that people with basic, industry specific language skills will find it easier to find employment, which in turn strengthens further language development and chances for successful integration into society in general. To assist newly arrived people in gaining the best opportunities, we have developed this program, for language teachers, volunteers, and in-company language trainers to teach vocationally oriented language skills via an adaptation of the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Language teaching) method and also using TBL (Task Based Learning) methods.
